Nils Berg Cinemascope
I was going to see this spectacle live at the Gothenburg Film Festival but spaced out after having two beers(!) and missed it. The concept was so awesome that I went straight home to google it. Nils Berg Cinemascope is a band that plays along with their favorite Youtube clips of people playing instruments.
Startsladd at Pixelvärk
Andreas Apelqvist was quick to edit some clips featuring Startsladd from the Pixelvärk VJ section at the Gothenburg International Film Festival’s opening party.
Contest for Audiovisual Performances
The Internationales Videofestival Bochums is looking for 30 minute long audiovisual performances to be performed live in front of a sitting audience. Deadline for applications is 1st of March.
Live cinema documentary
Toby *Spark has just uploaded his “experimental documentary about a contemporary art practice”. We tried to get Toby over to Pixelvärk, but his schedule didn’t allow it. Even if we would have liked to have Toby here live, this is a pretty good substitution.
Stop-motion
The club culture site R.fm has collected a really nice set of music videos using stop-motion techniques. Check it out for yourselves!
Pixelvärk starts tomorrow!
Friday january 29th is the start of Pixelvärk which runs parallel and partly in co-operation with The Gothenburg International Film Festival. The Swedish VJ Union is representing with 3 VJ acts at the opening party, Startsladd, Vidots and Bopa. If you’re in Gothenburg tomorrow night, don’t miss it! A new take on projectors
Engadget just wrote about this new projector from Norwegian company Projectiondesign which is a new take on video projectors. They are separating the lens from the lamp and the fan connecting the two units with a liquid light guide. Read all about it at Engadget!
New DJ mixer from Denon with V-Link
Futuremusic writes that Denon has just announced DN-X1600, a digital DJ mixer with built in USB sound card, 4 MIDI layers and Roland’s V-link. The V-Link enables you to control some of Roland’s video equipment like the effects of the V-4 and V-8 mixer.
Pixelvärk 2010
It’s time for yet another edition of the Pixelvärk digital arts festival. This year’s focus will lie on getting people from other art and design disciplines to get interested in live mixed video. For this reason Pixelvärk has teamed up with the Gothenburg International Film Festival. The first items of the festival program is up on the Pixelvärk website now.
