The Internationales Videofestival Bochums is looking for 30 minute long audiovisual performances to be performed live in front of a sitting audience. Deadline for applications is 1st of March.

Experimental film Victimes by Nino Strohecker was awarded for the fifth time at it´s 21th filmfestival since the premier in 2008:

Best International Directional Debut of a Short Film at New York International Independent Film & Video Festival, New York 2009. The other awards are:

• Best International Avant-Garde Short at NYIIFVF, Los Angeles 2009
• Award of Merit at The Indie Fest 2008
• Honorable Mention Award at New Jersey International Film Festival 2008
• Honorable Mention Award at The Accolade Competition 2008

The design agency Daquar received first price in the Motion Graphics category of the “Kolla! Grafisk design & illustration 2009” contest. Daquar won with a loop made for fLiM, the ambient and vj oriented club at Nordic Light Hotel.

Ben Cook from Radio Design, the british member of the swedish VJ Crew Instructions, received awards in The Best Audio Visual category and The Best Work of The Year in The RAD Awards (Recruitment Advertising Awards) for his animation commissioned by Work Communications. Typophile is calling for entries to the 5th edition of their film festival. The deadline is March 31.
